Pair charged with drug possession in Easton

A traffic stop in Washington County has led to drug charges for two people.

Troopers stopped a vehicle on Route 29 in Easton on Feb. 16 for a traffic violation, State Police said. The driver was identified as Roland Brathwaite, 34, of Troy. Brathwaite did not have a valid driver’s license, police said.

Brathwaite and his passenger, James M. Brennan, 21, of Greenwich, had felony-weight narcotics, investigators said.

They were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Brathwaite was arraigned and sent to Washington County Jail without bail. Brennan was released on his own recognizance.
