Pittsfield Police: Agitated man tried to grab officer’s gun
A man is facing a long list of charges, after an altercation with police in Pittsfield.
The man resisted being put into handcuffs, and even grabbed one of the officer’s guns, investigators said.
Police saw a man lying in the road on North Street near Union Street last Friday night, they said.
He appeared to be having a medical emergency, but while they tried to help him, he became agitated and tried to assault the officers, they said.
The man, identified by NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle as Charles Crosby, had a gun in his waistband.
Police found prescription drugs, heroin, and cocaine while searching for another weapon, they said.
