Police: Bennington County woman lied about restraining order violation

A Bennington County woman is facing charges for allegedly providing false information to a police officer.

Bryonna Prew, 23, of Pownal, allegedly accused a person of violating a restraining order. However, police found this to be untrue after an investigation, Vermont State Police said.

Prew was issued a citation on Sunday and is due in Bennington Superior Court on June 24.
