Police: Hoosick Falls woman fled from police twice

A Hoosick Falls woman is facing multiple charges after police said she ran away from officers twice in two months.

Hoosick Falls Police tried to stop Lecia Edghill, 44, on Sept. 5 for a traffic violation. Edghill allegedly drove erratically and at high speeds for several miles before crossing the Vermont border. Bennington Police took over the chase. She eventually was arrested and sent to Vermont Correctional Facility. She was released on Oct. 4.

Hoosick Falls officers knew she was planning to return to the village and had outstanding warrants. They saw her around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 and attempted to arrest her. She took off but was eventually taken into custody.

Edghill was charged with reckless endangerment, fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and several traffic violations.

She was sent to Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
