Police: Rensselaer man had crack cocaine
A Rensselaer man is accused of possessing crack cocaine.
Sheriff's deputies were patrolling the area of South Pearl Street and Madison Avenue in response to complaints from a business owner about an uptick in crime. They stopped Glendell Ellis, 58, for a traffic violation. They found he had around one ounce of crack cocaine, which was packaged for sale, the Albany County Sheriff's Office said.

Albany County sheriff’s deputies were patrolling the area of South Pearl Street and Madison Avenue after a business owner complained about an uptick in crime. They stopped Glendell Ellis, 58, for a traffic violation. He had around one ounce of crack cocaine, which was packaged for sale, investigators said.
He also had an active warrant out of the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
Ellis was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, bail jumping and a traffic violation. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail.
