Police: Schaghticoke man threatened person with knife

A Schaghticoke man is accused of threatening a person with a knife.

Edward R. Charette, 64, of Schaghticoke, was having an argument with the victim around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, then grabbed a kitchen knife, investigators said. He then left the scene.

The victim was not hurt.

Police found Charette in a wooded area and arrested him.

He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, criminal possession of a controlled substance and obstruction of governmental administration.

Charette was arraigned in Schaghticoke Town Court and sent to Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
