Rensselaer felon pleads guilty to weapons possession

A Rensselaer man has pleaded guilty to possessing weapons as a convicted felon.

Andrew Williams, 38, admitted in U.S. District Court that on May 2, 2023, he had the rifle, ammo, and 15 other firearms at his residence, the U.S. District Attorney’s Office.

Williams has a prior felony conviction for burglary and is banned from legally possessing firearms and ammunition.

Williams will be sentenced on Sept. 4. He faces up to 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of post-release supervision.
