Saratoga Springs Fire Department mourning retired firefighter

The Saratoga Springs Fire Department is mourning the death of one of its own.

Retired firefighter Neil Emanation died at the age of 46. Emanation served as a U.S. Marine, firefighter, paramedic and registered nurse at the Albany VA.

The department said on its Facebook page that Emanation was a dedicated family man who spoke with endless pride of his daughter Laine, son Nolan and wife Laura.

“It would be impossible to list all of the family, friends, fire service personnel, medical personnel, patients, and other people whose lives Neil changed for the better. Please keep them, especially his family, in your thoughts as we navigate this devastating loss,” the department said.

There was no word on funeral services.
