A Saratoga Springs woman was sentenced to five years of probation for assaulting a 7-year-old child last year.

Gloria Rhodes, 51, was arrested on May 19 after a staff member at an elementary school reported that the child came to school complaining of arm pain, police said. That child was taken to Saratoga Hospital and later to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

Rhodes pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court in March to a felony count of attempted assault. She also must perform 60 days of community service.
