Schenectady homicide case moves to county court

The case of a Glens Falls man accused of killing a woman in Schenectady on July 21 has been moved to a different court.

Corydon R. Carlton, 40, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Renee Stratton, 49. He was scheduled to appear on Wednesday in Schenectady City Court, but the case has been moved to Schenectady County Court, according to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Post-Star.

Rescuers tried to save Stratton, but she was pronounced dead.

An investigation determined that the cause of death was homicide due to blunt force trauma.

Carlton is also facing misdemeanor charges of second-degree harassment and petit larceny, the paper reported.
