A repeat felon from Schenectady was sentenced on Wednesday to 20 years to life in prison on gun charges.
A jury convicted Tyrone Jackson, 36, in March on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Jackson had a loaded gun in the area of 655 Lansing St. in the city of Schenectady.
Police tried to serve a warrant when he pulled a loaded gun before trying to run back into the building, prosecutors said.
Jackson dropped the gun and was caught upon leaving a wooded area by the residence.
Because of his criminal history, Judge Matthew Sypniewski classified him as a persistent violent felony offender.
