Schenectady woman accused of Social Security fraud

Schenectady woman accused of Social Security fraud.

A Schenectady woman has been indicted on a charge of Social Security fraud.

AnnMarie Ditoro, 41, is accused of misusing her children’s benefits after the Schenectady County Department of Social Services removed her children from her custody, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Ditori was arraigned last Wednesday, Feb. 7, and released pending further proceedings.

She faces a up to five years in prison if convicted, along with a possible $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.

The Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General is investigating this case, which is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Tuck.
