Scotia man accused of having fake DEA badge

A Scotia man is accused of having a fake DEA badge and insignia during a traffic stop.

Jack C. Lather, 41, was stopped on Thursday just after 4 p.m. by deputies in the area of Clinton Avenue and Ontario Street for a traffic violation. Lather had a quantity of fentanyl and a fake DEA badge, investigators said.

He was charged with criminal impersonation and criminal possession of a controlled substance, and released on appearance tickets. He is due in Albany City Criminal Court on April 3.
