Catamount Mountain in Hillsdale is opening for the season earlier than expected.

The Catamount Facebook page says it opened at noon Friday, thanks to five inches of snowfall.

It says it’s planning to open six trails for people to enjoy this weekend.

All summit passes will work this weekend and next weekend, it said.
