Tree removal worker in Hunter gets major electric shock

A tree removal worker is recovering after he received a massive electric shock and his heart stopped. It happened while he was on the job last Thursday, May 23, in Hunter.

Larch Tree Service was working on North Lake Road.

Investigators say one worker was cutting trees back from a powerline.

The arm of the bucket got too close to the powerline which then broke, according to sheriff’s deputies.

An electric shock moved down through the car and struck the victim standing on the ground nearby.

A co-worker did CPR, with emergency crews then taking over to help stabilize the victim.

He is now stable at Westchester Medical Center and is expected to be discharged soon.
