Troy man faces drug charges after traffic stop
A Troy man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop last month.
State Police stopped Scencier R. Cancer, 21, on Second Street at around 12:20 a.m. for a traffic violation. Cancer allegedly threw an item from the vehicle before stopping, police said.
Troopers recovered the item and it was determined to be felony-weight narcotics covered in plastic packaging, police said.
The incident took place on March 20 but police sent out a release about it on Monday.
Cancer was charged with two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia and vehicle and traffic violations.
Cancer was sent to Albany County Jail.
