Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello has announced a search for a new home for City Hall.

The city is issuing a request for proposals to find a new site.

City offices have operated from leased space since 1 Monument Square was demolished in 2011. The property at 433 River St. was selected nearly 12 years ago as a temporary solution.

Mayor Carmella Mantello said in a statement that there have been many suggestions from residents and officials as to where City Hall should be located including the Italian Community Center, Johnstone Supply, the Hedley building, the Frear/Atrium building and the old Lansingburgh Price Chopper.

The city is seeking all viable proposals. The location must have 30,000 to 45,000 square feet of space, necessary public access, ADA compliance or potential for being complaint and about 80 to 100 parking spaces near public transportation.

People with suitable properties are asked to submit their proposals by 11 a.m. on June 28.
