Two Albany men facing weapons charges after traffic stop
Two Albany men are facing weapons charges following a traffic stop.
Rhaking C. Birmingham, 40, and Zanique G. Browne, 28, were stopped by police at around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. They allegedly had a loaded .45-caliber semiautomatic firearm, which had the serial number defaced. Neither Birmingham nor Browne were allowed to possess firearms, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office said.
In addition, police said Birmingham had a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Birmingham and Browne were both charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Browne also was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as aggravated unlicensed operation.
They are scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Thursday.
