Two men face drug, weapons charges after Hoosick traffic stop

Two Connecticut man are facing drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop in Hoosick.

State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 7 just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for traffic violations. Troopers saw an illegal expandable baton in plain sight in the vehicle, they said.

Shaun T. Hawkins and Jack A. Williams, who are both 46, were arrested. Williams also allegedly attempted to run from police.

Police found felony-weight narcotics including fentanyl and cocaine in the vehicle, investigators said. Hawkins also had more drugs on him, said police.

Both were arraigned in Brunswick Town Court and sent without bail to Rensselaer County Jail.
