Two people face weapons, drug charges after Pittstown crash

Two people are facing drug and weapons charges after crashing their car in Pittstown.

State Police observed a vehicle speeding on Route 7 just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Troopers tried stopping the vehicle but quickly lost sight of it. A patrol of the area found that it had crashed off the roadway of Old Route 7.

Police found Gina M. Truszowski, 30, of Barton, Vermont, at the crash scene and determined she was a passenger in the car, they said. The driver had left on foot.

Police found multiple handguns, one of was loaded, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, they said.

Truszowski was taken into custody at the scene and transported for medical evaluation. Police found the driver, later identified as Collin Blount, of Troy, walking on Eycleshymer Road and took him into custody.

Blount was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of ammunition feeding devices and vehicle and traffic violations.

Truszowski was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices.

Both were arraigned in Schaghticoke Town Court and sent to Rensselaer County Jail.
