Two Schenectady men accused of stealing car

Two men from Schenectady are accused of stealing a car last March.

State Police found a vehicle on March 16 in the area of Locust Grove Road in Greenfield. The car had been reported stolen from Chestertown earlier that day.

The investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Jonathan R. Clayfield, 26, and 29-year-old Thomas E. Clayfield.

They allegedly drove the vehicle to that location and fled into the woods when they saw troopers patrolling the area.

The pair were arrested on September 27 at Schenectady County Jail after they were released for an unrelated matter. They were each charged with criminal possession of stolen property and released on their own recognizance after being arraigned at Wilton Town Court.
