Staff members from the Johnstown School District were at the White House Wednesday morning to talk about how to keep kids in school.
The visit was part of a summit on chronic absenteeism. That is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year.
Johnstown was the only district selected from New York state and is the only small-city school on the panel.
School leaders from all over the United States talked about how they can better address absence challenges.
NewsChannel 13’s Kumi Tucker spoke with the district earlier this week, as they prepared to leave.
