The dog who was stabbed by someone who went onto the owner’s property in #Cohoes has died from his injuries.
Kevin and Christine Carmel were on vacation out of town and their dog was under the car of a sitter. Their dog Blake, a labradane, was stabbed by a person that went onto their property last Thursday.
They said Blake was outside when someone went onto their property and stabbed him in reaction to him barking. That person ran off and the suspect has not been found.
Kevin is a firefighter and Christine works for Albany County 911 dispatcher. A GoFundMe page that had been set up to pay for his medical bills posted over the weekend that Blake had succumbed to his injuries at around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. The veterinarians told the family that there was nothing more they could do.
“Our hearts are completely shattered as we look to a future without him and knowing our daughter will not get to grow up with him by her side,” the statement said.

From the bottom of our hearts we will forever be touched by the generosity shown to try to save our baby,” the statement went on to say.
The GoFundMe had raised over $19,000 toward a $20,000 goal as of late Monday morning.
