NewsChannel 13 salutes George Franchomme of North Adams.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He later joined the National Guard, bought a farm in Valley Falls with his wife, and they later served in the Peace Corp in Malaysia.
He passed away in 1988 at age 61.
