NewsChannel 13 salutes Army Private Manuel Perez of Wilton.
He came to the United States when he was 4, enlisting after Pearl Harbor.
He was at Omaha Beach in Normandy a week after D-Day, fought in the Battle of Mortain, and was captured in the Battle of the Bulge for several months before being liberated.
He turned 96 years old last December.
