New York’s Cannabis Control Board approved and handed out more licenses to grow adult-use marijuana.

Thirty-six Conditional Cultivator Licenses were given to New York hemp farmers. Eight of those businesses are in the Capital Region.

Businesses receiving the conditional licenses may begin growing cannabis outdoors or in a greenhouse with up to 20 artificial lights.

Provisional license holders will have to apply for full licenses by June 1. The temporary licenses expire on June 30, 2024.
