Suspect in Halfmoon referee assault turns himself in

The player accused of attacking a referee last weekend turned himself in to state police Monday evening.
Unique Steele, 19, of Saratoga Springs was promptly charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct in connection to an attack on a referee during a youth basketball tournament on June 5 at the Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon.
Steele was given an appearance ticket and is due back in Halfmoon Town Court on June 22.
Steele, his head coach, and his Saratoga Splash teammates who surrounded the referee during the attack were permanently banned from all future tournaments sponsored by Zero Gravity.
