A 12-year-old boy is accused of shooting a 48-year-old woman on South Pearl Street in Albany.

Albany police arrested the boy on Tuesday. His name is not being released because of his age. According to police, the boy shot the woman in the arm on the 300 block of South Pearl Street just after 4 PM on Monday, May 13.

She was treated at the Albany Medical Center and is expected to survive, according to police.

The 12-year-old is charged with attempted murder in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Albany County Family Court and remanded to a detention facility.
