Millions in infrastructure grants to be distributed in NY state

More than $90 million in grants will go to improving infrastructure across the state. A large chunk of that money will go to Albany County.

More than $90 million in grants will go to improving infrastructure across the state. A large chunk of that money will go to Albany County.

The money includes $17 million in FAST NY grant funding earmarked for the town of Coeymans, for electrical infrastructure upgrades that will bolster economic activity at the Port of Coeymans.

The town supervisor released a statement, saying “we are thrilled to have the ongoing support of New York state in our efforts to continue to develop shovel-ready sites for existing and new economic development opportunities, including those available to support the supply chain efforts needed for offshore wind.”

That’s not the only local project to receive funding. The Fort Edward Canalside Energy Park Project was granted more than $6 million. That will allow for completed buildout of wastewater infrastructure and improvements to drinking water infrastructure for the former GE dewatering facility.
