Albany County accepting new applications for COVID relief funding
Albany County has launched its second round of applications for American Rescue Plan Act funding.
About $8.3 million will support financial recovery after the pandemic and new community development.
Many nonprofit organizations lost revenue during the pandemic, and the $1.5 million recovery grant program offers grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000.
“It’s either they didn’t have the staff to do the first initial applications that came out from the federal government, they didn’t have the resources, or they just didn’t know it was out there,” said Albany County Executive Dan McCoy. “The nonprofits in Albany County are part of our backbone of our community. They have so much to offer, and we want to make sure that they’re there.”
