The money will be used to help break the cycle of addiction, according to Albany County Executive Dan McCoy.
That includes hiring a part-time nurse specifically targeted on helping people through addiction and getting them treatment, he said.
Albany County was one of the first counties in the state to take on big pharma, he noted.
