Albany Co. executive announces endorsement from NY League of Conservation Voters

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy officially announced the endorsement of his reelection from the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) Saturday.

The NYLCV is a political action organization at the forefront of fighting climate change, protecting the Earth’s natural resources, and improving public health.

NYLCV has now endorsed 108 candidates across New York state for this election cycle.

“I am proud to once again receive the endorsement of the New York League of Conservation Voters for my reelection campaign as County Executive. They are the gold standard of environmental protection and action, and I know we share a vision for a more sustainable future,” said McCoy. “I remain deeply committed to establishing Albany County as the greenest county in the State and I’m proud of the progress we continue to make through electrifying our vehicle fleet, building EV charging infrastructure, investing in the renewable energy economy, and so much more.”

Albany County was designated a Climate Smart Community by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in September of 2021, having received the “Bronze” certification. Under the leadership of County Executive McCoy, the county is on the way to receiving the “Silver” certification.
