Albany fire displaces four residents

No one was injured in a fire Tuesday morning in Albany.

Firefighters were called to 4 Ten Eyck Ave. around 8:40 a.m.

There was heavy fire in the two-story structure when they arrived, Fire Chief Joseph Gregory said.

A second alarm was called and over 30 firefighters from a dozen companies responded.

One portion of the building was an Elks Club and the second portion was divided into two apartments, Gregory said.

Three people lived in one apartment and one in the other, Gregory said. They were safely evacuated.

The building was badly damaged. No one was hurt.

The city of Albany and American Red Cross are helping the residents.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause.
