Seven people were displaced by an Albany fire on Monday.

The Albany Fire Department received at a call at 5:47 p.m. reporting a fire at a two-story, two-unit building at 13 Sherman St., Fire Chief Joseph Gregory said.

When firefighters arrived two minutes later, they found smoke coming from the eaves of the wood-framed structure.

All the tenants got out safely.

The fire was predominantly in the attic, Gregory said. A cause remains under investigation.

No one was hurt.

The Red Cross is helping two adults and four children, ages 3, 4, 9 and 15.
