Albany firefighter loses discrimination case over promotion
An Albany firefighter has lost his bid to have a court reinstate his discrimination case against the city.
Jeremy Clawson says his promotion was taken away because he is Black.
Clawson was supposed to be promoted to battalion chief in 2019. However, first responders had to take him to the hospital after he appeared to be drunk outside a Dunkin’.
The fire department told Clawson days later he would not be getting promoted.
Clawson claims he wasn’t drunk that night, but according to court documents, he had several drinks before the incident.
