Albany man arrested for criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shawn P. Grady, 41, for criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon.

Grady was located outside a residence in the Town of New Scotland at approximately 3:16 p.m. Saturday, when deputies received a 911 call for a disturbance. After further investigation, it was determined that an order of protection was in place for Grady to remain away from the residence, said Albany County Sheriff’s.

It was also discovered that the 41-year-old male was in possession of a Remington Arms shotgun and was previously convicted of a felony offense.

Grady was charged with two counts of first degree criminal contempt (class E felony) and one count of fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon (class A misdemeanor).

He was taken into custody and arraigned in the Town of New Scotland Court. Grady was released on his own recognizance.
