Albany man arrested on grand larceny, stolen property charges

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shi-Ron I. Morris, 20, of Albany on Saturday for grand larceny and stolen property charges.

Deputies were conducting a traffic stop in the area of Second Street and North Manning Boulevard in Albany for a traffic violation.

Upon further investigation, it was found the vehicle Morris was operating, a 2010 Toyota Venza, was reported stolen on April 8 in Albany, said Sheriff Apple.

Authorities say Morris did not have any right to possess the vehicle, and he was placed into custody without incident.

The Sheriff’s Office says Morris was charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, one count of third-degree grand larceny, and traffic violations.

Morris was taken in as a pre-arraign detainee at the Albany County Correctional Facility. He is due in City of Albany Criminal Court on April 14.
