Albany man charged with attempted murder
A 24-year-old Albany man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Tuesday.
Officers responded to 900 Central Ave. at around 5:50 p.m. for a report of shots fired. They spoke with a man who told them that while driving in the area of Orange Street and Robin Street, he heard a loud noise and saw a man in his rearview mirror holding pointing what appeared to be a firearm in his direction.
The victim drove to a safe area and found a bullet hole in the rear passenger side of his vehicle, police said.
The investigation led police to a residence on the 500 block of Clinton Avenue.
Donta Blair was charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Blair was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail.
Also arrested was 25-year-old Jada Newman. She was charged with three felony and one misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and released.
