Albany man gets 25 years to life in prison for shooting

An Albany man was sentenced Friday to 25 years to life in prison for killing a man in 2022. Willie Green was found guilty last month of second-degree murder, criminal facilitation and one count of hindering prosecution in the death of Hacief Oliver. Green worked together with others to shoot and kill Oliver, 26, in November 2022 on the 300 block of Second Street, prosecutors said.

Green worked together with others to shoot and kill Oliver, 26, in November 2022 on the 300 block of Second Street, prosecutors said.

A second victim in the shooting was hospitalized with injuries to his abdomen.

The killing was part of an ongoing gang war between members in West Hill and South End, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
