Albany man indicted on murder charge in 2020 shooting

An Albany man is facing a second-degree murder charge in an indictment that was unsealed on Tuesday.

Joseph Seeley, 27, is accused of shooting Jimmy Moore to death on Sept. 23, 2020.

It happened in the area of First Street and Lexington Avenue in Albany, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office said.

Seeley is also charged with criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly illegally possessing a gun.

Seeley pleaded not guilty before Judge Roger McDonough in Albany County Court. He is due back in court on Jan. 5, 2024 at 11 a.m.

Assistant District Attorney Jessica Blain-Lewis is handling prosecution of the case.
