Albany man sentenced for attempted murder

An Albany man is going to prison for attempted murder.

Jamar Brown, 20, was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in state prison, and five years of post-release supervision.

Brown pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder in August 2022.

He is accused of shooting someone aiming to kill them in the area of Second Avenue and Hampton Street.

He also unlawfully entered a building with a loaded firearm.
