The Albany man who inspired the “Raise The Age” movement in Albany pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.

Marquis Dixon, 26, is charged with criminal possession, promoting prison contraband and having drugs.

He is accused of having illegal drugs in the Albany County Jail in June after being arrested for allegedly having a handgun illegally.

He has been remanded back to jail and will be back in court later this month.

Dixon was convicted 10 years ago of robbery. This conviction was often cited by justice reform groups who wanted to raise the age where teenagers were tried as adults.
