Albany Police charge student, 14, with possessing knife
Albany Police arrested a 14-year-old student on Monday for allegedly possessing a knife.
Officers responded to the school at around 1:30 p.m. for a report of a person with a weapon. When they arrived, they found the student and arrested him.
It appears there was fight in the hallway of the school before police arrived, investigators said.
Albany High school went into a brief lockdown while the investigation was conducted. No one was hurt.
The student, whose name will not be released because of his age, was charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under age 16. He was released to the custody of a guardian.
