“I wish Ann Arbor the best in its search for its next police chief, as my commitment remains with Albany,” Hawkins said in a statement. I am one of the longest serving police chiefs over the last 40 years in Albany. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue that service.”
Hawkins has been Albany’s police chief since 2018.
Back in 2021, he also made it to the finals for a police chief job in Akron, Ohio, but didn’t get that job.
