Albany Police investigating two separate shootings

Albany Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred on Thursday.

Albany Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred on Thursday.  

Staff at Albany Medical Center alerted police at around 7:20 p.m. that a 21-year-old man entered the room with gunshot wounds to his upper thigh and hand, police said.

Police determined that the victim was outside with a group of people in the area of the 600 block of Clinton Avenue before being shot.

He was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting happened around 11:40 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Grand Street and Madison Avenue for reports of a shooting. They found a 61-year-old woman who had a graze gunshot wound to her neck.

She was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel for non-life-threatening injuries.
