Albany woman arrested for attempted murder of her child

A 23-year-old woman from Albany is facing charges after allegedly trying to drive into the Hudson River with a two-year-old on her lap.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday morning police responded to the boat launch on Quay Street for a call that a car appeared to go into the water, Albany Police said.
Santisha Lopez was found in the car with her two-year-old on her lap, feet away from the water, Albany police said.
The child was evaluated and found to be in good health and released to a family member.
Lopez is facing an attempted murder charge and a child endangerment charge.
She was arrested and remains in jail.
