Body cameras and dash cameras will soon become standard issue for police officers in Pittsfield, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle report.

The Pittsfield City Council approved a $1 million contract with Axon Enterprises.

Chief Michael Wynn told the council on Tuesday he’d enter a contract and officially launch the program as soon as the council authorized it.

Wynn believes it will be several weeks before the cameras are up and running.
