Alleged Proud Boys appeared near Ballston Spa business

“We could see they were turning the corner to the street where my shop”, Ballston Spa business owner Jess Rich told NewsChannel 13’s Tiffany Payton.

“I ran out to my stoop and told them to get out of my town & had some other choice words. And they yelled back at me”, she added.

She asked us not to show her face out of concern for her safety.

These are the moments she describes has her interaction with a the self-proclaimed “Proud Boys”.

“They’re trying to be intimidating”, Rich said.

Alleged Proud Boys appeared in Saratoga Springs. In the video below you can see the group on Broadway.

They were wearing masks on their faces and the signature black and yellow of the proud boys. The group is labeled by the Anti Defamation Leauge or ADL as a “right-wing extremist group” because of their views on race and gender.

Rich says the group left a card with her that reads “Proud boys stand for” with a list of ideologies.

The Saratoga Springs public safety commissioner considers the rally to be a parade and is recommending the organizer be charged with a violation for not getting a permit for the rally.

“I’m just not going to stand for that. I’m also not trying to give it too much oxygen. This balance is between using the platform I have to let people know what’s going on and giving too much attention and making them feel like they’re big boys”, Rich said.

Ballston Spa Mayor, Frank Rossi said the village was considering a permitting process for public demonstrations.
