$500,000 raised at American Heart Association Capital Region Heart Ball

The Albany Capital Center hosted the Capital Region Heart Ball on Friday night, as the first event of the American Heart Association’s centennial year.

$500,000 was raised at the event, as more than 500 people gathered to raise awareness for heart and brain health.

The event featured a survivor story by Kyle Wessels, who suffered a heart attack after shoveling snow.

The American Heart Association will continue to fund education and research programs to improve heart and brain health in the Capital Region and the United States.
