Amsterdam Fourth Ward alderman faces weapons charges

Stephen Gomula, the Fourth Ward alderman in Amsterdam, is facing weapon charges.

We have learned that Gomula is accused of having a 30-round detachable rifle magazine and a rifle. He is also accused of having a pistol grip and flash suppressor.

He was charged last week with two counts of third-degree criminal possession, as those items are illegal to own in New York.
